RAY LONGBOTTOM

Ray is passionate about helping leaders develop all the skills they require for new roles, supporting talented younger managers in stretch assignments and challenging the top tier to develop the next generation of leadership for their organisations. He also coaches teams to help them integrate acquisitions and to work effectively across national cultures.

Before becoming a coach, Ray was Executive Director for 3M Company leading a business group employing more than 1000 people in Europe & MEA, with sales in excess of $700M and manufacturing and R&D operations in several countries. He led several successful acquisitions and has more than 12 years experience developing businesses and organisations in Central & East Europe. He championed a number of key innovation projects.

His career spans sales, marketing and general management and he built a reputation for coaching and mentoring high potential individuals, especially female executives – many of whom are now in senior positions around the World. In his coaching, he combines the skills of a professionally trained coach with the knowledge and judgement of a CEO. Ray enjoys spending time with his wife, grown-up children and grandchildren, makes time to run, swim and go to the gym, improve his guitar-playing and French, enjoys music and reads history of the last 250 years. He is a governor of Therfield School.
